to the wriggling babies asleep in the gently rocking water,
crooning dreams of the summer air into their little bodies,
encouraging their subconscious straining
as they grow outward and swallow themselves up inside new shapes,
morphing into tiny, smooth singers,
entirely new creatures except for their eyes-
fairy eyes glowing dark and wet under the stars
as they murmur along with their memories of the time spent below.
