“she holds a smile like someone would hold a crying child”

welcome to the big grey blur of life before summer. play a song, erase a memory, fake a smile. pretend to laugh along with the other people who know so much less and more. tell yourself you feel pretty, even when you don’t. lie to yourself for just one more month, long enough to get over the rough patches. and then watch it all fall apart. rinse, and repeat.

  1. I love this passage. The line ‘lie to yourself for just one more month, long enough to get over the rough patches. and then watch it all fall apart. rinse, and repeat.’ is raw. I like it.

  2. Do you think we will find some things that hold together? I hope I have….
